Jade smith stared absentmindedly out a window while the teachers lecture droned on."Miss Smith? Miss Smith?" Jade snapped to attention. "Yes Miss?" she blushed at the snickering around her. "If you dont mind I think you should listen to my boring lectures if you want to pass tomorrows test." "Yes, Im sorry." Jade said quietly as she blushed again, even redder than before. "Now as I was saying..." sat there waiting for the redness and burning to go away. Jenn Rosenfield whom was sitting next to jade gave her an odd look. "Whats wrong?" she mouthed silently. Jade shook her head and pointed to the clock. Jenn looked, the lunch bell was going to ring any minute. The teacher looked up and saw it too. "Class dismissed."
Jade picked up her things in more of a hurry today as she dashed out of class. "Come on jenn! Dont be so slow!" she stuck her head in and received a book being thrown at her. She quickly ducked and headed for her locker. "Hey jade wait up!" jade turned recognizing the voice. "Hey chloe!" the blond smiled slyly as she stopped at jade's locker apparently waiting for her. "You wont ever guess who asked me out. Hmmm Clint?" Jade smiled, secretly wishing he would asked her out. "No Not yet any ways, but guess." Chloe smiled slyly yet again. "No clue chloe who?" "The new guy, Jake!" chloe exploded. "What about Jake?" jenn appeared looking more than unpleased. "That percussion guy Jake asked me out today." "Uh what's the matter jenn?" "Jonathon is still at the head of the class." Jenn grumbled miserably as she crammed some books into the locker above jade. "Surprised?" chloe and jade asked in unison. "Not really just, oh well I dont know." Suddenly jenn smiled. "Jake huh?" chloe and jade burst into laughter. "So how'd he do it? I mean he seems so shy." Jenn inquired. "Well he sits next to me in chemistry, so I talked to him for a while and he asked me out." Chloe gleamed. "And I didnt even play hard to get!" she added. "Well done, I award you 7 out of 10." Jade said as jenn giggled. "Too bad skyee is in Washington. She's going to be bummed." "She'll manage, as long as you take pictures." Jenn teased.
They entered the huge cafeteria and headed straight for the band table where Andrew waited patiently. "I was beginning to think you three were lost." Andrew joked as they all sat down. "Hey look chloe here comes Jake." Chloe looked up from her pizza to gaze into a pair of deep gray eyes. "Jake!" she squeaked. Jenn giggled, but as jade looked into jakes eyes she felt weird as if sensing a very strong power, and couldnt help but think that jakes eyes looked lifeless, no warmth, no heart. Suddenly she felt as if she knew who he was as if she had met him before. She felt his gaze on her as if he were trying to find something out. "Jade?" she blinked, jenn was looking at her with deep concern. "Hey I'm going to go get a soda, jenn come with." "Ok jade what's up?" jenn asked frowning. Jade peered over her shoulder then said in a low voice. "I think I know him from some where. Its as if we met before, but not at school." "Do you think chloe is any danger?" "Im not sure." Jade replied some how afraid for herself.
The following Saturday night chloe sat on the couch in her living room waiting for jake. When she heard the doorbell ring at last she bolted to the door. She opened the door to jakes smiling face. Good evening Chloe. He said handing her a rose. Chloe felt her self-turning red as she managed to get out hello. They drove off in jakes car to a small Italian restaurant and after that took a walk around the park in the glow of the moonlight. Chloe I wanted to ask you something. Jake said, as he looked deep into her eyes. As she stared back she felt herself go into a dream like state. Ask me anything. She heard herself say, unable to take her eyes away from his. Tell me who he was cut off by Aries hurdling an energy disk at them. Chloe felt herself being pushed out of the way. She got up noticing she was alone. Are you scared? a voice said behind her. Whos there? chloe asked, angry with herself for not bringing her communicator. She searched the area frantically for jake. Jake! she called out. Heh, heh youre not going to find him. Aries cackled on. What did you do to him? chloe angrily called out. Nothing that concerns you, where is the protector of destiny? Right here! Aries turned and smiled. Excellent. She mumbled to herself.
An energy disk shot out from the trees knocking Aries down. Whos there? she hissed. Cancer?! Why have you come? The emperor wishes I continue with this mission. Cancer responded, smiling slyly. Aries glared at her before disappearing. Cancer quickly turned her attention to destiny whom was confused but still stood her ground. Relax, please? cancer jumped down from the trees. Why should I? destiny glared. I want you to tell me my destiny. Cancer said quietly. What? But how do you know that I? destiny stammered. Cancer smiled. You are the one the stars have sworn to guard for eternity. How can I not know? Now please tell me. Why should I tell you any thing? Because I need to know what it is I was put on this world for. You know; I know you do. Cancer replied quietly looking at the ground. Is it true? chloe asked her. Can you really see every-ones destiny? destiny nodded silently. But why didnt you tell anyone? chloe asked still unable to believe. Ill tell you why later, right now I have to deal with this. You go look for jake to make sure hes not hurt. destiny said firmly. Chloe nodded then ran off. So you want to know your destiny or maybe perhaps your fate? jade said to cancer. I need to know! cancer pleaded. Ok. Jade said giving in.

The dark emperor smiled evilly. Who are you? destiny yelled up at him. I. He replied hovering down to the ground. Am the dark emperor, the future ruler of this dimension. Youre insane! Destiny rolled her eyes. Such beautiful eyes. He thought to himself quietly. You. He said to cancer. Leave us. She nodded then vanished. What do you want with me? destiny asked angrily. I want nothing more than your mere affection. He said taking her hand in his. She found it difficult to take her hand out of his. Part of her didnt want to, the other half wanted do desperately to get away. He pulled her closer to him. I want you to love only me forever. I want to be with you my goddess destiny. Please stay with me forever. He was about to kiss her when the sound of a flute filled the air. Ill come back for you. He whispered as he disappeared. Jade dropped to her knees. Jade are you ok? jenn asked with concern. My head hurts but Ill be fine. Jade replied quietly getting up.
Jake! chloe called out. She looked over at a park bench. Jake! she gasped running over to him. He seemed unconscious. Jake are you ok? he opened his eyes. Chloe? What happened? he asked quietly. You, uh, fell and hit your head. Chloe lied. Oh. Maybe I should take you home now. He said, obviously embarrassed. She nodded.
(At the doorstep of Chloes home)
I had a good time. Chloe said looking at him. I did too. I hope we can go out again. He said quietly. She leaned over and gave him a kiss on the cheek. He blushed. Good night chloe. He smiled. She waved shyly then ran into the house. Call me! she said before closing the door. He smiled then he vanished.
He appeared again on a floating sphere above the earth. Cancer! he called. Yes emperor. Cancer appeared. So what was this little shenanigan you pulled this evening? He asked looking down at earth. I meant no harm emperor I just- Save me from your sorry excuses. Go now I shall punish you later. He gave her a mere nod before returning his gaze on earth. Thank you. Cancer said as she disappeared. You are way too lenient on her emperor. Aries said floating above him. You ruined my date. The emperor said softly, not looking at her. My apologies emperor, but why did you take this girl on a date in the first place? I told you already Aries. Once I saw this chloe Starr with the protector of destiny. I believe she knows the true identity of this rare goddess. I simply wish to know what my destiny will be. He said firmly, glaring at her. Now I f you dont mind I want to be alone. Aries vanished from sight. Such beautiful eyes, the color of jade. Yes destiny when I rule this dimension I will eliminate all the other protectors but you. He said quietly to himself, smiling at the thought.
Jade stared out the window. She sighed. Is it possible to be in love with the enemy? she asked her self. She remembered cancer pleading to have her destiny told. Why now the sudden change? Are they still the enemy? No it cant be cancer. Or maybe the wrong force is all just guiding them. I will help you all. She promised to her self as she climbed into her bed and fell into a deep sleep.
